Leave a legacy behind with a Zeller Wardrobe Trunk designed after a trunk in the early 1900’s this trunk surpasses all others.

Premium pieces of quarter sawn white oak are hand selected for each trunk. Wood is fumed giving it a rich warm brown color.

Hangers are hand crafted, also using steam bending. Slide out jewelry tray, with fold up mirror Custom made “Zeller Trunk Lock” Interior is a beautiful upholstery fabric in muted shades of tan and peach.

Ammonia fuming is a traditional process for darkening and richening the color of oak. Supposedly it was discovered by observing the way that oak beams in stables were darkened on exposure to the fumes from horse urine. Thanks to modern day research we can now do this with convenient ammonia, and we don’t need to keep a horse in the workshop.
What happens in fuming is the ammonia reacts with the tannin in the wood and permanently changes the wood fiber. It provides a very beautiful warm brown, and does not hide the figure of the grain.
